1990 Topps: What I have so far (#'s793-850)

I wanted to find a way to post some of the customs that I have done for each set so everyone can see them the way I do. I have each set's cards in a seperate file on my computer, and I add files to them as new cards are made by myself or others. I came up with an idea to post cards in groups of 50 from each set. Many of the sets have the first 20 or so done already with a good amount done in between as well. The missing ones should be easy to make, especially with the templates already done.

First up is the 1990 Topps set. Here are cards #792-805 with notes on a few of the cards.

793. Mike Schmidt

794. Mike Schmidt All-Star
Mike was selected to the 1989 All-Star Game starting lineup even though he had retired in May 1989 before the game happened in July.

795. Bo Jackson Highlights ('89 All-Star Game HR)

796. Mo Vaughn Draft Pick

797. Pete Rose Manager
He was suspended in 1989 and replaced by Tommy Helms. Since Topps only made 1 manager card per team, Helms got the 1990 card.

798. Dave Dravecky Highlights (came back from cancer in his pitching arm to pitch in the Majors in 1989)

799. Dick Pole

800. Guillermo (I'm not Willie) Hernandez

801. Checklist 7 (I did backs to these so I can put them in my albums)

802.Tommy John by GCRL

803.Nasty Boys by Jays Cards and Stuff (this blog is no longer up, but had some nice customs. Hope it reappears someday).

804. Dave Stewart World Series Highlights

805. Nolan Ryan Highlights (5000th Strikeout)

806.Goose Gossage by Richard

807. Tom Goodwin Draft Pick

808. Chuck Knoblauch Draft Pick

809. Todd Jones Draft Pick

810. Neil Allen

811. Chris Bando
This card was a pain to make. I did a search for Chris Bando Athletics, and the only A's photos I found were a black and white one of Chris, and a ton of Sal Bando. I took one of him from his coaching career, and photoshopped it to get this. If I can find a better one, this one will definitely get remade.

812. Billy Beane

813. Buddy Bell

814. Bob Brenly

815. Leon Durham

816. Tim Flannery

817. Bob Forsch

818. Greg Gross

819. Glenn Hoffman

820. Glenn Hubbard

821. Keith Moreland

822. Dwayne Murphy

823. Dave Palmer
Another one I had to photoshop.

824. Kent Tekulve

825. Steve Trout

826. Joel Youngblood

827.Will Clark NLCS Highlights by Richard

828. Chris Brown

829. Bill Dawley

830. Dave Otto

831. Brian Snyder

832. Doug Jennings

833. Scott Hemond

834. Dann Howitt

835. Dick Scott

836.Dave Duncan Coach by Richard

837. Rene Lachemann Coach

838. Art Kusnyer Coach

839. Dave McKay Coach

840. Tommie Reynolds Coach

841. Merv Rettenmund Coach

842. Stu Tate (former Auburn alum and one of my favorite players)

843. Jamie Quirk

844. Larry Rothschild Coach

845. Ozzie Virgil

846. Kevin Batiste

847. Xavier Hernandez

848. DeWayne Buice
This was an awkward photo (the original one was horizontal, and had a watermark on the right side, so I had to cut it off funny), but this is probably one of the only Topps cards with a photo of an Upper Deck card on it.

849. Jose Nunez

850. Chris Hoiles

Now that I am done with the first 50 or so cards in the 1990 set, I'll probably work on the 1991 set, and keep going up through the 2001 set, that way each set will get equal attention. I'll keep updating the cards as I get new blocks of 50 made, and I'll keep adding new ones that anyone emails me, so if you've ever wanted to help me out with customs, I have pages with the checklist for every set from 1989-2001 and all the templates on the sidebar. Speaking of the sidebar, I updated my page of players that I collect. While this blog is mainly for customs, I do collect baseball cards and have close to 100,000 cards and an extensive player collection. One of those players, Brody Koerner, just got his first MLB card in Donruss (Panini) Elite, so now I went from having every one of his cards (one minor league issue) to needing 20-50 (thanks Topps/Upper Deck/Donruss for inventing parallels. NOT!!!). If anyone ever wants to try to make some trades, I'm open to it. I might not be able to trade as much as other bloggers, but I might be able to swing a few trades a year cumulatively. I'll probably try to pick up some 2017 Topps cards when they come out and will make a post of what I get once I get some. I'm still not sure of the official release date of the flagship brand. Some sites have Feb. 1st, and others have the 8th. If anyone can hep clear the confusion that would be awesome.

Thanks for checking out my blog.
