I completed the '87 Topps set!

A few weeks ago, a friend on the FB Custom cards page announced that he was starting up the 1987 season of his simulation baseball league. If you've followed my blog for a while, you know that around 2016 or so, they did the 1983 season, and I did a set for that one, as well as the '84 set the year after. While I missed the next 2 ones, I was able to finish the '87 Topps and Topps Traded set for their league, and added it to my ever-growing resume of completed sets. Just wanted to do a quick post of the completed 1987 Topps set. I figure I'll finish the '95 Topps Traded set, which has about 19 teams left, and then move on to the challenging 1996 Topps set. Getting closer to finishing out the '90's. For now, enjoy the 1987 Topps set and its wood grained greatness. All cards not done by me are notated.

  1. With as much time as you put into these, I thought you might want to know about a few incorrect images: the Dodgers card of Jack Fimple is actually Mike Vail; the Tito Landrum card is not the correct Tito - the photo you have is of a career minor leaguer who played in the Dodgers system from 1991-1996; the Al Leiter traded cards looks to be an image of Jimmy Key; and I think the traded card of Scott Anderson is actually an image of Kevin Brown. Great work completing this set…truly amazing how much time and effort you are putting into all of these!

    1. Thanks for letting me know. I’m not that familiar with ‘80’s guys so I’m glad that I’ll be able to correct these.
The Anderson/Brown one was an eBay photo that was listed as Anderson and I myself thought it could be Kevin Brown, but I went with it. I think I found different correct photos for each of them so they will be updated.

  2. Wow. That was fun to go through. I had to look up George Foster with the White Sox and Ron Davis with the Dodgers because I don't remember either of them with those teams (they were both very brief visits!) ... Also is that an "airbrush" job on the A's Fernando Arroyo card?

    1. There are tons of airbrushes in the ‘87 set. Mike Laga, Steve Carlton, Terry Harper. Figured it would go along with the set.
