Favorite Player: Max Scherzer

At first, when Max Scherzer got traded to the Tigers before the 2010 season, I wasn't really stoked. I hated to see Curtis Granderson go, and didn't think Austin Jackson would do much. I loved to see Phil Coke pitch the previous season for the Yankees, because it always seemed like he was giving up runs for them, and I didn't want to see him do that for the Tigers. Scherzer was young, and I really didn't imagine him doing that much for Detroit.
I decided to get some cards of Scherzer anyways, to try to get signed in Spring Training of 2010, and ended up getting a few rookies for cheap. Fast forward 8 years later, and he is coming off of his 3rd Cy Young Award, pitched 2 no-hitters, struck out 20 batters in a game, and pitched in the 2012 World Series. He has 2,149 strikeouts going into his 11th season, and if he keeps it up, he could see Cooperstown calling in 10-15 years. Shortly after seeing Scherzer strike out 14 hitters in 5.2 innings in 2010, I started collecting Max.
