2025 Topps design is out!!

It looks as if the 2025 Topps design is out.

Here is a link to the write up and more photos.

I guess I struck out big time with my guess

The design is nice. It kind of feels like the big thing with the team name on it is going to weigh the left side of the card down and make it topple over. I like how it is the team color. The field is nice, although I would’ve liked to see the position written out. I wonder what they will do on Ohtani’s card (or all DH’s for that matter).

The big problem is the last name. On some photos in the link, there is a white glare (?) across the silver bar, and some of the teams have the last name in white. It makes it very difficult to read.

Other than that, a solid design, as was 2024. I’ll work on making fun of Manfraud with a card of him in the new design either this afternoon or tomorrow. Happy 2025.

Thanks for checking out my latest post.

  1. I always need to see the design a few times before settling on a judgement. That being said... my first impression is positive. I like team colored wave (reminiscent of the 1982 Topps design) running along the left.

  2. An interesting design. I think it's pretty good. I also liked your design though.

  3. I see a slot car race track! I clicked the link earlier today and saw that the checklist wasn’t available but now it looks like topps took the entire post down.

  4. Not too exciting and similar to several other Topps flagship designs but otherwise OK. Bound for a hangover after 2024.

  5. Not great. Not terrible. Name readability issues are a pet peeve of mine. Points for having the team logo on the front, though.

  6. Like Fuji, I am definitely getting 1982 flashbacks with this one, but overall it's pretty good. I wouldn't want them to do the visual representation of the player's position every year, but for a one-off it's a nice, oddball idea. I wonder whether this means no one gets more than one position.
