Favorite Player: Barry Lyons

In the summer of 2017, my wife, son, and I drove from DeLand, Florida to Dallas Texas to go visit my Mom and one of my sisters. On the way, we stopped in Biloxi, MS because my wife is from there, and also to go drop off some Barry Lyons cards at the annual Biloxi Shuckers kids baseball camp. I was doing some research for customs, and somehow stumbled upon an article about the camp. I got all of the Lyons cards I had, made a few customs, and brought them with me on the trip. We got to the stadium, and I got to go down through the dugout, into the tunnel, and to the indoor batting cage where Barry was speaking. It was the first time I had ever been in a tunnel of a pro sports team. After Barry was done talking, I gave him the cards to hand out to the kids, and he was nice enough to sign some customs for me and I gave him some to keep. He was impressed with the White Sox photo (there aren't any I could find and I had to photoshop it). Favorite Player: Corey Lee

I saw Corey Lee play for the Charlotte Rangers in the late '90's, and he was nice enough to sign a piece of paper that I had drawn the Rangers logo on. I may still have it somewhere in a box. Lee was a hot prospect who reached the Majors for 1 inning in 1999.

Terry Leach is a former Auburn Tiger (War Eagle!), and he is a great ttm signer. He signed some of his cards for me, and added a picture inscribed 'War Damn Eagle!' the last time I sent to him.

Favorite Player: Kevin Kouzmanoff

Kevin Kouzmanoff is the first MLB player ever to hit a Grand Slam on the first pitch of his career. He was a great power hitter and defensive 3rd baseman during his time in the Majors.
I remember in 2004 when he got his first Bowman card, that everyone was making a big deal that he signed his nickname "Kouz" on the card. I thought it was cool, and wanted to get a card of him so I  Ipcould get it signed. I never got to get his autograph in Spring Training when he was with Cleveland and they trained near me in Winter Haven, Florida, but I did get 2 autographs through the mail in 2007.

Favorite Player: Brooks Kieschnick

I have always been a fan of Brooks Kieschnick. I thought he would do great for the Cubs, and I bought a ton of packs of 1994 Topps and 1995 Topps, but could never land his card from either of those 2 sets. I was happy when he was drafted by the Rays, but sad that he didn't get much playing time. He had some success in Milwuakee, but it was pretty late in his career.

Favorite Player: Andruw Jones

    

A few year after I really started following baseball, Andruw Jones came onto the scene. He hit a HR in the 1996 World Series to become the youngest player to hit one, and everyone was saying he would be the next Willie Mays. His cards were red-hot in 1997. I could never pull one, but I did finally get some in 1998. I never did get a copy of his 1995 Bowman rookie, but I may have to look for one soon. He made some amazing catches in centerfield for the Braves, and he was so good that he could play extremely deep. He could also hit for power and had a 50 HR season in 2005 to go along with all of the Gold Gloves. He finished his career with 434 Home Runs, 1933 Hits, and 10 Gold Gloves. I don't see why he doesn't get some consideration for the Hall of Fame.
One of the main reasons I collect Jones is that he was a coach for the Netherlands team in the 2017 WBC.

Jason Johnson is a Type 1 Diabetic who was the first MLB player to be allowed to wear in insulin pump on the field during a game. I got to meet him once when he was in Spring Training with Detroit, and he was a nice guy. I'm sure if I would've had a card of his back then that he would've signed it.

I saw John Jaso play for the Montgomery Biscuits in 2008, and I was impressed by his abilities. He made it to the Majors with the Rays, and has become a solid hitter, with the ability to catch, and play the corner infield positions, as well as outfield.

Favorite Player: Daryle Ward

Back in 1996 when I went to a number of Lakeland Tigers games, Daryle Ward was their big First Baseman. Kind of reminded me of a lefthanded Cecil Fielder. Ward made it to the Majors with Houston in 1998, and played through 2008.
I have a bunch of Ward autographs from his season in Lakeland, 2 baseballs (3rd one from the top in red, the bottom one, really faint in purple), an autographed pennant (underneath the orange "E" in Tigers, a program cover (to the left of the top left picture), and on the inside of 2 programs (bottom row middle).

Favorite Player: Santiago Perez

I saw Santiago Perez play many times in 1996 when he was with the Lakeland Tigers. He signed a program for me, and also a ball. I had a few cards of him, and decided to send them to his Next Wave Baseball Program in Arizona about a year ago to try to get them autographed, but have yet to get them back. I'm not sure if this is a different baseball program that he is involved with, but after some searching, I found this Arizona Future Stars Baseball Program that it appears he is the head of.
Right now, my Santiago Perez collection includes an autographed baseball, and an autographed pennant (he is under the orange "s" in Tigers).  I purchased a few cards of Santiago for my collection in case the ones I sent to get signed never come back.

Favorite Player: Elliot Johnson

Elliot Johnson was a great player in the Rays organization who I got to see play in Montgomery in 2006. He made the Southern League All-Star game that year, and helped the club win the league championship. He made his MLB debut in 2008, and played for the AL Champion Rays, and last appeared in the Majors in 2014 with Cleveland.
